Food Waste Hero Contronics at Dutch Design Week

Frank Bakker (Contronics Engineering) saves fruits and vegetables from the dumpster. This Food Hero brings an innovative Dry Mist technology to the Dutch market.

Inspired by the morning mist hanging over a crop field, Frank sought to replicate this natural phenomenon. Contronics is leader in ultrasonic humidification solutions for the fresh food supply chain and retail around the world. Covered with a blanket of ultrafine mist, fruits and vegetables stay fresh and keep their quality for much longer. Applied at every stage of the supply chain, from postharvest through storage and transport to the supermarket shelf, Dry Mist enables a 50% reduction in food waste.
